2011 Super 8 50 2T Help Please!!
« on: October 30, 2011, 09:01:10 PM »
Just bought this bike recently
(1) Added 70 cc big bore kit, performance variator, TK performance exhaust, performance clutch and re-jetted carb with #90. Bike can do over 50 mph and I weigh 250 lbs.

PROBLEM- When I wind out throttle for 1/4 mile or so, bike shuts down. Electrical stays on, but engine shuts down completely.
(1) Is this a CDI issue? I have seen some threads that say their is no restriction as far as rev's on the stock CDI?? I also cannot find the correct non-rev CDI for this bike. I ordered one from a parts supplier( Monster Parts)and he assured me it fit and when it arrived it had the wrong style plug. Do they make a non-rev CDI for this bike? If so where?
(2) If it is not a CDI problem what is it? Engine not getting enough fuel? I re-jetted to a #90. I also cannot find a big carb for this bike. Does anyone know where I can get a bigger carb that will fit?
(3) Last problem, bike will not start in the cold? any suggestions

Thanks for any help

Provoscooter.com sells them  I got the arreche 19mm with manual choke. Just look up super 9 ac and that one will work. My bike starts and runs alot better with the maual choke. I love I can change the main jet without pulling the carb.  On this carb you can also adjust the needle jet. They also sell different needle jets and slides to really dial it in.  Malossi also has carbs the will work at molossisusa.com that people say are really good after all its molossi and the the stuff I got from them has been great!

I had problems with cold starts with mine. If it gets cold where you live go with a manual choke. They work much better. When I had the electronic choke it was hard to start in the cold, after is started it would idele pretty high for a while and if I took off while the elctronic choke was on it would bogg out and sometime shut off. I love having the manual choke
