Underseat Light Issues
« on: November 08, 2011, 05:11:51 AM »
My light under the seat has never worked. The bulb looks ok but I replaced it anyway and still nothing. Is there a fuse somewhere for this particular light? Anything else that I am missing?

I don't remember a dedicated fuse for the bulb.
But I disconnected the wiring, because the bulb drained my battery if the compartment wasn't firmly closed.
Do you have a multimeter? Check for voltage and the wiring.

Check to see if the "Met-in" indicator is lit on the dash if the seat is up. If it is lit, then the issue may be at the seat switch. If it not lit, then the circuit will need diagnosing.

If the Met-in light is on when the seat is open - then remove the underseat tub that the light is connected to and make sure that the connector for the light is seated properly (disconnect it and reconnect it).  If the Met-in kight on the dash (lower right) isn't lit when the seat is open - then remove the tub and check the sensor's connector is seated properly.

The bulb might look okay and still be bad.  I'd buy a new mini wedge LED bulb to replace it with.  If it isn't the problem - then having an LED in it will give you more time to notice it is on before it kills your battery.

yup sometimes it gets unplugged. that light is useless if your compartment is full so i installed an LED strip rigt under the seat.

Yeah, after removing compartment I saw that the light and the phone charger outlet were not even plugged in. They are now and issue is fixed.
