How good is your back brake?

Correct, not leaving enough room to stop is cosidered tailgating.

I did have plenty of room sid and axy. The road was damp so i couldnt slam the brakes on too much at 1st or i would have wiped out. There was loads of space between us but he just suddenly slammed on his brakes for no reason on. a straight road with no other traffic or side exits.
His car obviously can stop much quicker than my scoot can so even with the large gap i had left i struggled not to hit him.

Was a young guy, think he was stopping to use his phone or something cos there is no stopping or parking on the road wo there is no reason to expect him to stop.. I always leave as much space as poss in front but if you leave too much you get f#@kwits trying to overtake you and jump in the gap!

yes, I know what you mean about people moving into the space you leave, by doing that, they have just created an unsafe situation for you, but they don't care. No matter how much room you leave, if you can't stop in time, it falls back to you. With wet roads you need more room, commonly called riding to the conditions.
