been working on a zx 50 for a buddy and i cleaned carb got it started and it runs good but smokes a ton and does not want to idel?? how to you adjust the oil mix on carb

A synthetic 2 stroke oil won't smoke as much . Good luck .

I think you don't adjust it at the carb but at the oil pump.  But, hey, somebody might have mixed oil in the gas so make sure you've got nothing in the gas tank but gas before messing with oil injection.

I think I heard that you're supposed to look for two scribed lines to line up on the pump when throttle is wide open.  But I don't have one so wait for somebody who knows for sure to reply.  Or find the service manual.  I believe there's one for viewing or downloading on this forum in the general section.

Yes, there is a point on the edge of the spindle where the cable connects to it, at wide open throttle it is supposed to line up with a line on the side of the pump body. If the scoot has been sitting for a long time there couod be a lot of oil/fuel residue sitting in the crankcase causing the excessive smoke. As Hoolander2 said, run fresh fuel through it before reducing the oil flow.
