Just bought my Agility 50 with only 77km on it.
« on: January 03, 2012, 04:38:36 AM »
I love my new scooter! But.. I am only getting around 35-40mph.. which would be find for me but I don't want to get ran over. There is some issues that I think could be causing problems with speed. 1 When I got it the battery was dead.. if I kick start it, and let it run for a few minutes its good to go. And it starts well after that during the same day. 2 I was reading I should put in 92-95 octane gas in but insted I put in 85 octane because I didn't read the manual first. 3 I have read that there is a "break in" period until I reach 300km. 4 Maybe my MAJOR problem cause as of now I weigh 244lbs.. my normal weight was around 175 which I will get back down to since I am out and being active again. Does anyone know how I can get atleast 45-50mph without any major changes to my new scooter? btw I live in the US so I don't think its restricted or anything. I would be very greatfull for any helpful replys.
  Thanks,
 Derek  :)

if you are geting 35 to 40 out of your scoot you are doing good most agilty 50 with the cdi cut and a bigger jet gets only that I weigh 160 and I get 40 to 45 out of mine on a good day with no wind holding me back. and I have done most of everything I can do to mine for now cdi cut rollers and a bigger jet.oooya drive boss.

There's nothing wrong with your scooter . If you need more speed you should seriously save yourself a lot of trouble , expense and disappointment and buy a larger scooter or motorcycle JMO . Good luck .

On the CDI notch, I cut till I saw a very very small something that looked like only a single thread of copper... is that all it is?

Ok. thanks for the info  :) I am going to have to go to the store to get smokes very soon so I will let ya know how it rides.. Sadly not looking forward to the cold..lol Also do you think I need to check the boss to see if it has the washer on it or what ever? I have been watching videos on how to take all that stuff off. Still so much more to learn though :)

...its possible that the boss has been swapped, but if still oem, it will have that restriction..

Ok just went to the store.. about 4 miles. On flat ground it stays about 40mph and down hill slopes it got to a little more than 40. Its pretty cold out and very windy so I think that slows me down. If the boss wasn't changed out would I be getting 40? And up hills I am only getting 25-30 but I'm a heavy guy but I'm working on that :) Also it's not really that I want to go all that fast right now.. I just find all this disrestricting very interesting. I also want to learn to tune and repair myself so I can save not only money but gain the knowledge. And it the future I might even like to intall some proformance mods just for kicks :)

It dosn't sound as if you are restricted , and it probably will run better in warm weather . Make sure you have the tires fully inflated , I run 32psi in mine , that helps a lot . Good luck .
