Tire Spin Question

Just got a People 150 and so far I love it...

I'm wondering if the rear tire is supposed to spin freely while on its center stand? Is it normal for there to be some resistance? What about the front tire?

It rides great, but I don't want to wear down the brake pads or put any undue stress on the engine/gas mileage.

The rear wheel should spin slowly while the engine warms up , once warmed it should stop . If it spins when warm the idle is set too high . Good luck .

So I guess my rear brakes are too tight, because the rear tire doesnt spin freely at all...

I guess you're asking about when the motor is not running, right?  There should be a bit of resistance felt when you spin the wheel when motor isn't running.  That's because you're spinning the final drive gears too.

The resistance is inconsistent. The rear tire spins about half way freely, then seems to tighten up...the front tire is somewhat tight throughout the entire rotation. It's a new scooter and I'm still running it in.

It could be that the new break pads are getting set in.
I would not worry about it unless it is making noise while riding.
Do the brakes seem to be making any noise while you are riding?
Tell all this stuff to your dealer at your first check up.

Ok that's not normal then.  But Portland Steve has a point.  Could just be new brake pads getting settled.  If it's really bad or gets worse take it to your dealer for service.

No noise...just kinda stiff...I'll tell my dealer on first service if they are still tight...thanks for your help...I really appreciate it :-)
