Variator, J Costa
« on: January 13, 2012, 04:42:06 PM »
I have read that J Costa has issued a new & much better quality variator? Anyone here of this? Do thay make one for our X500 BEAST?  :-* Maybe it's just for the smaller scooters? :-*

If they JUST made it, no one will know about the quality yet.
That will take some time.

I know no one who bought the JCosta in the last 4 or so years after a few had issues and posted about it
on the local forums. Same goes for Polini.

90% of people who buy aftermarket variators go for malossi here.

I agree with Cortez on the Malossi. Looks like a fine unit. I wish I had the cash now. Dr Pulley also makes a variator that look like a good unit, but they don't make one for the X500? (as far as I know that is)? It would be nice to replace the whole drive train with a Malossi variator and a Dr Pulley clutch. Or maybe go Maolossi on both ends? :-*

There's a Malossi on Ebay right now for I think about $200.  Says it was never run but the package was opened for "fitment" or something like that.
