That stuff did not just start. Every army has done it to defeated soldiers, not always after they were dead. Remember the dead guys were trying to kill the live guys. It is a natural feeling to embarrass the fallen enemy. Just look at a football game on TV. You too have probably done it at some time. I'm sure the feeling is stronger when the fallen guy was trying to kill you. Whatever country you are from, your soldiers have done it. I won't defend the action but, not being in thier shoes, I won't criticise it. Just to name one, I remember the dead burned American bodies hanging from a bridge. I know this is not the correct forum for this discussion but... sorry.
