Super 8 kick start

It takes a lot of kicks to kick start my Super 8. Is this normal? is there an easier to kick start the Super 8?

park the scoot on the center stand. Turn the key on, give it full throttle, kickstart it with feeling. Starts first time- every time, unless you have a spark or carb problem.

Thanks for the reply. Will the scoot start even with weak battery? Because I did the kick start when the battery can't turn the electric starter anymore, and I can't start it. I just bought a new battery.

Have you done the basics? Check for spark/fuel/compression ect.?

And the final Ps... If your cdi is dc fired it will be almost imposable to start w/ a weak battery. If it is ac fired it makes no diff. if the battery is good or bad. I forget which cdi is in the s8's

2011 Super 8 125cc 4 stroke. Started right away with a new battery. I spent around 1 hour kicking it with the weak battery with a few rests. No luck. Weak battery can still slowly crank, but can't start, but with the new one, just one click.

Can I convert to AC CDI? Are there aftermarket AC CDI for my scoot?  Also, my battery is 7ah but the 9ah can fit in my battery compartment, only a little higher. Can I use the 9ah instead of the 7ah?

Yes you can convert to AC. You can use a Kymco 50cc-150cc stator/flywheel. You will also have to add a regulator/rectifier, and a CDI. To do this you need either the entire wiring harness to match or re wire yours to fit. The only real advantage is being able to run w/ a dead or missing battery. Say your dc stator goes bad while riding... the scoot will run until the Batt. dies, and that is it. An AC will continue as if nothing has happened. For me to do this type of job it takes Approx. 3hrs. Most shops will not do it however because of un-real customer expectations... and the cost to customer. Try looking for a TRASHED but running AC fired scoot CHEAP, and you will have all the bits to do it yourself.

Install the largest one that fits. I've been using Interstate Gell Batts for several years now, and am quite happy w/ them. your stator can handle it, and the scoot will love you for it. If you are going to lay up the scoot for more than a month disconnect the Batt. and it will be fine. One more thing that may help... Interstate sells those little 4h security lite batts. that cost $7.00, and you can keep one under the seat for emergencies. It has enough UMPH to start a 150cc, and can run a DEAD scoot for several miles (as long as you use NO lites/blinkers). Good luck Bro!  http://www.nextag.com/battery-12v-4ah/stores-html
