sick Yager......
« on: January 21, 2012, 12:37:55 PM »
My Yager has been in the shop for 2 weeks....  :'(
It was getting  choked up at higher RPMs like 6k and 7K and the Tac would jump up too.
They told me it looks like the gas is getting gummed up some where in there....
I hope I get her back soon.....

You might want to try using a gas additive like Startron.  I've been using a dash in every tankful for a year and a half now.  It's supposed to help small engines like ours avoid ethanol problems such as moisture collection.

I've had some of the same problems. It's moisture in the gas from ethanol. It's a real pain in the ass. However, around the Philadelphia area where I live they just caught a number of gas stations using regular gas in their premium pumps, so the bad gas problem may be right as well.

Well they told me that they could not seem to get the gas to flow right, so they have ordered a new FI head....I think thats what they called it....

The FI head is the fuel injector. They clog very easily.(microns). Also ethanol removes water thru emulsification but causes its own problems (atacking rubber, aluminum, ect.) Try adding a GOOD in line filter in lieu of the Kymco OEM filter.

Thanks, good suggestion. I'll ask my mechanic about it.

Glad to hear that. Did they have any reasons for the trouble?

they said it seemed really gummed up, and they could never get it working right, so they just installed a new FI and all is good.
