Finding Out What's Wrong (AGILITY 50cc)

Howdy! My name is Samroo! I'm new to the world of auto engineering, but I'm now whimp. I'm guna fix this bike I swear.

Here's the story (skip it if you want to cut to my diagnosis)
I've been in love with scooters ever since watching the show fooly cooly. After moving to Boston I tried for months to find the best deal and scooter for me. After a good three months of waiting I see a silver Kymco Agility 50 listed for 800$. I bargain the scooter down to 700$ and call it a deal. I have a wonderful first day with him/ her (haven't even given it a name yet). She broke down once on the first day. The gas suddenly went from full to empty. I filled it up and suddenly it wouldn't work. Maybe I filled it up to far... Anyways with a little help from friends and kicking the bike around a bit she jumps back to life. I keep riding for another hour or so enjoying the breeze and sunshine, truely in love with life. I come home that night... suddenly at three in the morning I jump out of bed. Somethings wrong. I have too much energy... I tell my girlfriend i want to go ride my bike around be she just pulls me back in bed and waaaaaaaaaaah I'm asleep. The next day I wakeup and the bike is gone. My heart jumps.I walk two houses down the street and see it laying in an alley on its side. Her steering lock had been snapped, her frame kicked up, the ignition wire disconnected and battery shot. I eventually go tthe courage to take it apart on my own. I reconnected the ignition wire, trickle charged the battery and tried to fire her up.

Here's my diagnosis:
After trickle charging the battery and making sure all the wires were reconnected (the ignition wire was the only one I saw disabled) I tried firing her up. She had been sitting idle for about a month and a half keep in mind... She started making some noises.    One of my neighbors came by and gave her a listen. The seat cover had been taken off so I could see the carb and engine, etc. He said it didn't sound like the air was being blocked at all so that it was an electrical issue. Replace the CDI! I purchase a DC 6 plug CDI online for 10$. I replace the old one. (This is month three of idle. Yes there is gas in the tank.) I turn the key... there is a noise for but one second and wallop. The bike dies yet again. No more noises....

Back to square one...

sorry to here about your scoot.the thefs could of done alot of things to it. ya never know.I would take out all gas and oil put in fresh and give the bike a real good look over to see what all got broken.make sure all gas line and air lines are tight.make sure all wires are good and tight. And for the noise you are hearing wear is it comeing from is it the motor the fan drive train.

It sound like when you try to start a car and theres no spark. chuga chuga chuga chuga. I can hear the belt whirring. I'll try and take pictures if I can.

Is it possible to short circuit the bike by putting in a non compatible CDI box? Thanks

The fuse wa blown. I replaced it. It's making the same noise as before. I don't have any CDI box connected at all when I try igniting the fuse.

1. Buy New CDI box? (De-restricted?)
2. The wires that connect to the CDI; When I remove them the white input part disconnected from the wire... So the white head was in the CDI and the wire input disconnected.

Help?

I woulden play with the elc. part to much you may do more harm. you need to get spark for the scoot to start check the plug wire to see if its good.

The spark plug wire? the bike is making the same noises with and without the CDI box plugged in. My naive idea is that because of this i need to replace the CDI box. And the spark isn't happening when i touch it to metal.

Don't trash the cdi yet. There are too many other things to check first. You really need the manual, and some one who has tools, time too look at it w/ you. There are impedance tests too track down the problem but you need the manual (which is available) and tools. Get the manual, and follow the procedure in it. Ask here if you get stuck. The manual is on the forum. somewhere...
