Unlucky mate at least it wasnt worse i guess! the exact same thing happened to me in december on way home from work but because i knew there was black ice i was going no more that 5mph in a estate street! my back wheel skided out but i turned into it but slid the other way then turned into it quickly n stayed up but slipped out again haha kept myself up 3 times but the 4th was asking to much but i go luck cause when i slided off the bike it rolled but only damage to bike was both mirror bolts heavily same loose n i had to drive home with mirrors spinning and minor scraps to some plastic and was lil shaken up!

Glad you'r ok, weather is pretty bad and black ice is a bit of a nightmare. I have been taking it so slow on the corners and trying to keep to the areas were black ice is least likely to appear. Once you hit it on a bike not allot yo can do.  ???

Don't even think about age as a limiting factor.  Physical condition maybe, but not age.

How true my physical condtion is fair not the best these days but I can stell handle 2 wheels.a trike would be good so you dont have to worry so much about the balance. But at the same time it would be harder to keep out and away from the traffic. So there a lot to think about befor I even go that way.

a few weeks ago i was on my way to work, early morning and it was raining pretty bad. but i had to get to work so i took the sym out. well, i saw the needle hit close to 60 on a bend but it's so easily done you just totally overlook it. well, the back wheel was staring me right in the face and that's when i realised something wasn't right. next thing i know, i've hit the floor, the bikes skidded down the road and i just keep rolling. but i managed to walk away from it which i found to be amazing. when my boss asked if i'd been to hospital or anything, i was like "woah, martin, if you'd of come off anything at 60mph and walked away with a few bruises, you'd be counting your stars"
