The little devils are loose and tend to fall out as you remove the variator cover nearly forgot to put it back in the first time I took the cover off  ::)

I'll check mine next time im in there then. Guessin it maybe went for a walk the 1st time i ever opened it maybe unless it is still on there? Works fine anyway, or seems to, and doesnt rattle. Used to hear the rollers in the variator at times when reving on the stand but not really loud or so i would really notice it much. If theres no other problem its prob just normal noise.

Matty, Why not fit lighter rollers? 5.5g work out well for me.

Thanks Streido and others, and sorry for sort of hijacking the thread.
I did fit 5.5g rollers a while ago but the thing just revved super high really early and performance was poor.
I was having all sorts of other problems back then so maybe I'll try again to see if there's any improvement.

Don't think it's still restricted - the boss and the #82 jet are defo there. The CDI is original I think, and I can't see any obvious cutting, but then I'm told the 2010 agility doesn't have a restrictec cdi, but some disagree.

I'd really prefer to have a restricted bike but the last owner derestricted and didn't tell me. Just trying to get a feel for if the bike is naturally quite slow or not.

Thanks
M

I tried 5.5g roller weights in mine and they did just the same ened up with 6g by mixing three 5.5 with 3 of my original 6g after Sterido gave me the tip  ;D

Unrestricted you should see around 42mph CDi on mine is deffo de-restricted, AG50 is a nippy rather than fast bike but I find climate makes a big difference to performance. Cold or wet days and power is down slightly, last week especially the bike felt a bit sluggish at times.

Maybe they changed somthing in the engine or cvt set-up after 2010 because 5.5g rollers seem to work pretty good on all older models with the restricted cdi? I think i read wordslinger mention something about newer a50's being a little different/slower than older ones? But maybe im wrong. I have a race variator fitted too now but originally did the rollers only 1st. A race variator helped my acceleration too Matty so youmay want to look at that.

..all i know, is i'm struggling to get 53 outta my 09 engine...

..my 08 was way more responsive...of course i broke it in WOT from day one...

..dunno how the 09 piston was seated...

..initially i did run 5.5s, but after i learned more about cvt tuning, i ran 4.7 gram rollers in the 08 for a long time...

Maybe its got something to with the newer cdi's Wordslinger? Wonder if you tried different cdi's?

Could be there is still some restriction in the new ones maybe?

..i tried every bit from the 08, even the intake, carb..lol...

..dunno where the diff is, other than inside the engine...i'm thinking it's piston/cylinder..

If you can get 50 or better out of you scoot you are doing great. I only get that if I have wind to my back and pushing me.

Interesting jezyg. I do get about 41mpg top (on the speedo anyway). It's my acceleration that is a bit embarrassing. I'll try mixing the roller weights and see how I get on.

I did a totally unscientific test last night on my way home from work. When i pulled away at a set of lights i counted seconds in my head til i hit 30mph on the gauge, wasnt exact but seemed close to actual seconds. Did it maybe 4-5 times going home and it came out as roughly 7-8 seconds to get me from stopped to 30mph. So Matty if you say it takes you 13secs then that seems very slow? Ok, my seconds maybe were not accurate seconds but if anything i think i was counting a little too fast so around 7-8 secs would be pretty close i think. Rollers def help on acceleration, lighter rollers = faster acceleration.

thanks streido. there's definitely something up with my scoot.
Will try the mixed rollers and see how i get on.
Then I think it's either the garage or the bin.

Check your belt isnt worn and past its tollerence for replacing. And if its an older scoot or has a few miles on it maybe its time to renew the torque spring or fit in a 1000rpm torque spring instead of stock if youre replacing it anyway. Check the variator face isnt scored and worn away with grooves in it, if it is fit a new one in.
