New Kymco Owner With First Question on Day 1
« on: February 14, 2012, 05:11:31 AM »
Howdy,

My name is Choppastyle.  I've been a forum member on sites for every bike I've ever owned and am looking forward to being a part of this forum.

I bought a 2007 Kymco 500cc with 2,192 miles today after selling my 2nd Honda Helix.  I got it up to 100MPH on the way home (with room to spare)!  I couldn't believe it.  The reviews say a top speed of 87MPH!!?!??  I guess I got a "Special" one.

So I got a stellar deal on the bike because the rear right body panel had a crack in it.  I went looking for new panels when I got home but all I could find were unpainted ones.

My Question: Where can I find pre-painted Kymco body panels?  Is it possible or do I have to get them painted myself?  Any Honda panels I've bought in the past have been pre-painted.  I'd really appreciate any feedback.

Thank you,

Choppastyle

Stadium Yamaha for one: http://www.stadiumyamaha.com/pages/OemParts?aribrand=KYM#/Kymco_USA/Xciting_500/Body_Cover_%26_Luggage_Box/2K03110005/2K03110087

There are 5 painted panels listed and one unpainted.  Look at these color codes, pick your color.  The panel you want will have part of the code suffix in the part #.  For instance, a RIGHT side Orange body panel would be 83500-LBA2-E00-YFP  A left of the same color is 83600-LBA2-E00-YFP

Orange-----YR168 YF ORANGE MANTOVA  M
Gray-------NH045 N8 ARGENTO METAL MF
Blue--------PB107 BA BLU BENACO MF
Dark blue---PB244 C6 BLU VERBANIA MF
Black-------NH124 NF NERO SMOKE MF

Thanks to veniamy for the codes!  Also there's Kymcoparts123.  Also TNT Cycles.  All have the same online ordering system but prices vary a little.  check the shipping by hitting "update shipping" when you add parts to the shopping cart.

This is why I love forums!  Thank you very much.  Your response was way quicker than I expected!  I'm ordering it now.  As I gain knowledge on this scoot I plan to do the same.

Ok....just to make sure.....

If I have the Dark Blue......would this be the code I would buy?  83500-LBA2-E00-C6P

The codes look a little different from what I see posted from you. I just want to make sure.  Also mine is a 2007 (I'm not sure if that matters).

Thank you,

Choppastyle

You're welcome.  I hope I got that right.  I don't see the chrome Xciting 500 emblem letters shown so don't know if it will have those on it already??  Maybe not.

Yes, as far as I can tell, that's the right part number.  If in doubt, call them during business hours.  A woman named Shea is very helpful there and what she doesn't know, she'll find out.

And sorry, there are only 3 colored panels and one unpainted.  Sorry I miscounted earlier. :-)

Welcome.  ;D Nice bike with low miles. There's a few of us on here with that year model. And yeah, I hear they can go fast.   ;)

It's funny, the seller advertised it as an 08' but it ended up being an 07' when I saw the title.  Difference was that it was Carburated as opposed to Fuel Injected.  I didn't mind as I'm familiar working with Carbs and am very comfortable with them (plus I got a great price).  Thank you for the welcome!  I'm glad to now be a part of the Forum.

Thanks Hoolander!  I'm going to take your advice and wait until tomorrow to order.  The seller could have probably got $600 more if he would have bought this $90 part!  I'm going to have to make sure to keep your username in case I have an un-answerable question.

Thank you,

Choppastyle

Stadium Yamaha also discounts their prices. Very good shop to deal with.   http://www.stadiumyamaha.com/   Mention the forum, and they treat you even better. (shipping included)
