Sento50 turn signal lamps
« on: February 28, 2009, 08:58:01 PM »
For USDOT reasons, Sento50s that come into the US are modified with (ugly) external turn signal lamps.  However, the beautiful internal ones are still there but without bulbs in them.

Does anyone know if the sockets of the internal ones remain live even while the USDOT external ones are in use?  In other words, could one put bulbs into the internal sockets and double up the turn signals?

Thanks - from a new owner down in the Conch Republic

Randy,

You could by a relatively cheap test light to find out. If they are live then its just a matter of finding the correct bulb. If not you should be able to trace the wires and re-route them to the internal ones.

What I did was, remove the ugly units completely-used the wireing, sockets, and bulbs and mounted them to the internal lenses. the muonting holes from the stems now have orange reflectors in the front, and red in the rear. it looks real clean, and I don't have to worry about hitting those ugly stems anymore. it took about an hour , and cost $12.00.
