made the jet a bit bigger [till my carb comes in] and put the weights in and it screamed

Uh oh, you've been bit by the performance bug now :D ;)

Do plug chops to make sure you're not running lean. Rich is ok, lean is not. Make sure you do it when the new carb comes in too.

ive been takeing the plug out all the time to check the color on it, dont want to have to rebuild it again allready

I hate to be a stickler, but just checking the plug is not good enough. Google plug chop. Read several how tos. Food for thought :)
