DTi 300 screen

Hi - I've read quite a few posts about the standard screen and the bad - for me at least - buffeting around the helmet. I'm 6' and I wondered if anyone my height has bought the Puig shorter screen and what your findings are ? Also has anyone my height bought the Givi taller screen and what's that like (e.g. can you still see over it ?)

I'm not going to be much help to you, Captain... I'm about 5'3" and the stock screen is as perfect as it could be for quiet and no buffeting. I can ride with my face shield open and it doesn't even whistle...
But my Grand Vista's shield was short and so I can sympathize with the issue... if it were me, I'd try the taller shield but I get cold easily and like the protection.

oldcoastie... I am 6' 1", 245 and I use the windshield that came with the 300i and purchased now my second Fulmer Helmet 9B or AF-9B ISHADE. I wanted to purchase a full face helmet initially but I didn't like the restricted breathing for me. The 9B has a daylight shade and a 3/4 clear pull down over top that and this is enough for me to look over top the windshield and have mask & windshield giving me all the air blockage I need. I also like the air vent slider on it and silver for hot summer days.

The GIVI tall is over 6" taller. I doubt, without cutting, you will see over the top of it. There is another out there with a shorter top, I think it was 4", now that could stand a chance but it doesn't have the amount of the GIVI's hand protection.

captainA... have you come up with anything suitable yet, I'm curious. I read on here about changes the owners make and wonder what their final analysis is. Appears there are a good bit of new 300i owners.

I got the tall Givi, it offers more protection and reduced buffeting (not eliminated) and I am only 5'6".
I cut about 4" off the top because I prefer to look just over the top of the screen, therefore I increased the buffeting somewhat. Its the design of the fairing and rake of the windshield that causes most of the issues.
IMO, the fairing should come back to at least the top of the instrument pod then have a shorter windshield more upright that could be manually adjusted for height. The design needs to be like the Honda ST1300. I say this because I had a Burgman 650 Exec with the adjustable screen .... same poor design.
