I usually am on this forum just reading and enjoying all the topics brought to the table. Today I took out the XC after a 4 month winter rest. It was 64 deg. Today in northeast Ohio - of course a scootering day ! Well, I got it started after a jump from my battery charger, I got it on the road, feeling good, running good, and then realized the speedo was not working. I turned it off, on, off, on .... Still no go. Running great, just no speedometer.  I remembered seeing something on this in the forum, and came home to look it up. I found it, followed the instructions, and presto - speedo reset working perfectly. So I just want to thank all of you who post. It is always enjoyable and informative, and best of all - money saving ! Thanks again to all.

Mine is analog, and I have to slap it once in awhile to get it to read.

Mine quit working once after I worked on the bike, (can't remember what I was doing)? And the speedo was not working? I thought, great, I blew out some sensor or something? But after about 20 miles or so it started working again? So some modual must have a built in reset?

The Speedometer is the worst issue with these bikes.  Mine has
quit off and on for 3 years now.  The best thing I found is disconnecting
the connector at the speedometer itself and applying some Dielectric
Grease (Harley Davidson) to the terminals.  Only once since last August
has it acted up and that was two weeks ago when it had set for a while
and was pretty cold.  That day,  it registered 80-90 mph.  After a few miles
it settled back in.  Actually I bought a GPS and yesterday found the speedo
registers about 10 mph faster.   I even ordered a new Sensor.  After being
back-ordered for 4-5 months I cancelled it.

Well there you go, if they are out of them & on back order, then they must go through a lot of them?
