Fuel probs
« on: March 19, 2012, 11:49:13 PM »
My scooter pooped out one day after putting in old gas in bad gas. I tried octane booster but no flow to the engine. I changed the fuel filter and now it starts but won't accelerate. Idk what to do next.. Do u?

It has clogged the jets in the carb. It must be removed/dis assembled/cleaned. There is no way around it.

..i learned my lesson..waay back in th day about pouring old can gas in my scoot...

..the pilot jet..(starting jet) is waaay small..around 1/3 of a millimeter..

..dont take much a piece of crap to clog them up...

You guys know if those GY6 engines are any good? I might trade a guy my PS3 for his Chinese 4 wheeler with a GY6. Just for girls and my dumber friends to ride.

I like it just fine. Mine is a China engine also. It's the rest of the scoot that blows. For a ps3 its a fair trade... Youll spend a few bucks buying better parts but it should last awhile. The gy6 BBK's can be bought for 70.00 or less, and only take 2-3 hrs to prep/install.

It's a Peace or Peace sport(I'm not sure on the proper name of the brand) and has the 125cc GY6. It looks to be in really good shape. It does need a starter but that's like $20 shipped(could just be the relay huh?). Yeah I've been doing a little research on the GY6 engine and there seems to be oodles of parts. I'm gonna try to go look at it this weekend.

Yeah my buddy had one too. He sold it when he got his license back. I think it had way more torque than my stock people. Not any more though ;D

Thanks for the advice guys. Sorry to steal your thread Luckyone. You can have it back now ;D.

Let us know if you get it fixed and what solved the problem.

gy6  are nice little scoots the use to be hard to find but now thats all you see around here .Im thinking of makeing my next scoot a gy6 of some sort.Plus most of the parts are inerchageable with other scoots.
