Disconnect the ANNOYING "Met-In" Light?
« on: March 26, 2012, 04:31:57 PM »
My stupid "Met-In" light pops on all the time...even while driving.  Once, it came on while the scooter was in the garage and it drained the battery.

Does anybody know how to wire it so it NEVER comes on?

It is supposed to come on when the seat is unlatched.  So check and see if your seat is latching securely.
It may need a slight adjustment.

I would guess it is on the same switch that turns the light on in the storage compartment under the seat.

Scoot safely,

Scoot safely,

If I just jiggle the seat, when it's latched, it will come one.  I'll get in there and see if I can figure it out.

I would think you could either remove the bulb and break the circuit or lift the met in box and seat and disconnect the bulb holder . Good luck .

Remove the bucket under the seat and disconnect the light.

The problem is in getting a reliable reading from the switch.  If you don't feel you can adjust the switch or just don't want the light - then I would remove the switch all together.  If you remove the switch and the "Met-In" light comes on - then replace the switch with a little jumper of wire.
