I paid a little extra because this kit was supposed to be custom to my needs. Since this was my first time, a step by step would have been real nice. Well the kit was a basic kit nothing fancy and instructions were generic and even forgot to mention the pilot jet.

It came with shims for the needle, 38 pilot and 110 and 115 main. Various bits for drilling here and there. Stock is 35 and 102.
Overall I am satisfied, but not impressed.


Anyway. I used 2 shims, the .38 and the 110. My plug chops were not really showing lean to begin with. Well, not impressed. Not sure if anything was improved. As a matter of fact I think hitting 60mph is bit of a struggle now.

I will be doing an airbox mod, maybe that will fix it a bit.

Try putting the needle back to OEM first.

that is actually pretty easy to do.

I will check my plugs tonight and tomorrow on my day off will remove the shims from the needle and give it a shot. thanks.

holy crap......this thing rode like an old mule.

Could not get to 60mph....stayed steady at about 57.

Also last 1/4 throttle did no better than mid throttle.

Too lazy and tired to try the needle shims.

Took off the air box lid. Got to 64mph...yee ha.
Took off air filter got to 64 a bit quicker....yee ha.

I will check my plug tomorrow morning.


BTW, anyone transplant K&N gauze to factory filter? I might give it a shot, just need a oil filter donor.

That was showing the carb was rich till you opened the box. It will help to do the transplant. You may need to go to a cone filter in the end but good to see your improvement...
You might be able to pull the shims, and go w/ the stock air box too.

Keep it one step at a time with jetting. A bad 100 yard run could end it.

oh yeah....remove shims and stock air box first.

Installing torque spring and dr pulley sliders.....if scoot wont do 65mph(GPS) thinking of selling it while I can get my money back.

Well Sheet!

Removed shims. Install 13g sliders and yellow spring (stock was colored yellow). Cleaned the clutch bell and pads, larger& lighter baffled muffler.

This scooter is slow. All this labor and money and speedo won't go past 64. About 55mph actual. Take off is no better.

Waiting to to cool to check plug for mix ratio.

Am I missing something? I be dammed that the valves need adjusting on a nearly new bike.

My old Tank 150 would go in the 70s actual with a 2 stroke silencer, stock pipe, sliders and a Uni filter, no jetting, performance cdi and coil.

I think its time to sell.

weights and main clutch have no impact on carburetor settings.
