But it pulls like a freight train now....
That's why we do what we do!
Well, today I burned up some more 93 octane- a lot. I recently pulled my intake manifold off to hog it out properly- when I put on the BIG parts, including the Arreche carb, I merely port matched the manifold, as the throat was too small to open up much. Well, now it matches all the way through, after extensive TIG welding and die grinding. Man, what a difference, along with a larger pilot jet. This thing almost wheelies now! WAY better throttle response, and I am running an 80 main jet now, I still might swap that around yet, but the plug is nice and clean.
More off topic- (sorry)- I also had about 2 mm of squish on my engine, so I had the head milled off 1 mm. This must surely mess up the critical combustion area some, but I now have 1.03 mm of squish and the deck height remains 1mm. I am running 93 octane, but today was the first real ride. So far so good- I hit 49 MPH today!
I have spent a ton of money to gain 13 MPH..........!
