i have heard the same about those types of exhaust summit about how on two strokes the sound waves sumhow drag more gasses out or summit like that. i have seen Naraku crossover exhausts not sure if its just gimmicky but they say they are specially tuned for four stroke engines and arnt desinged in the same way a 2 stroke version is....i think.

Expansion pipes are really simple echo chambers. The principle is the returning "echo" pushes the mix back into the jug. When the Exh. port is open, and the transfers are fully de pressurized some of the New mix flows out the Exh. port. The echo from the pipe pushes That mix back in. The idea of tuning is to match the Peak power of the Cyl. to the return pulse of the pipe. Dyno tuning is really needed to get it EXACT but matching your parts is critical to getting everything working together.

FORgot... These pipes will create a sound wave that WILL push valves into a "float". It can send a wave that will open the Intake valve while the exhaust valve is open. This is an exaggerated scenario but the idea that makes it happen is not.

..in my opinion, the free-flow air filter is the BEST mod to air-flow that you can do to a 4t...

..exhaust...not so much needed....in my experience...

Even with the holes drilled in the pipe...
A 4t just don't have any "ass" with stock pipes... :D
(not that a single pipe will give it any more ass.  ::))

BUT, i bet a pipe and a camshaft would help and still leave her stock
