Nice advice AMAC.  I only do interstates when traffic is light.  Rush hour adds a whole 'nother mind game to riding with cars.  I've got a PS250 and it has about 18 extra mph top end over the PS200.  Liquid cooled is nice also cruising in the heat of the day.  If the point is getting there and time is an issue I take the cage.  Otherwise take back highways and enjoy the ride.  Racing cross country and not seeing the sites isn't my style.

Too bad they aren't making the PS models anymore.  It's hard to get info about working on them.  I got mine used also cause the price was cheaper than anything else.  First choice was the Sym HD200.  At least the plastics are easy to remove on the SYM.  But I do like the extra power of the 250.

Yeah it sucked that time was short but it was just one of those things.
I recently sold that scoot, it was a really solid ride but truth is I love the big wheels but its hard to hold up the scoot. Seat height, compromise body !

I'm an incomplete paraplegic that's why I love thru step thru scooters. The problem is choices are slim once you get bigger than 150cc. The BV, Sport City's etc are all great scoots but all are tall. The maxis with a lower seat height are just to big all around. Long and heavy both on the road and in the garage.

Not to mention there is a need to swing a leg over most maxis. It's not that high but its not step thru.

The grand vista was a great scooter but people seem to like their scoots looking more like cycles these days.

I just bought a SYM RV200 EVO. It fits what I need. Lite, short ,step thru, massive storage and carrying power and a very strong motor for its size. I've seen 73 GPS.

This gimp will take the same trip, all back roads, again next spring.

The RV200 is a nice scoot.  Has many of the DT300 features and the tested engine of the HD200.  THAT is a cruise-worthy scoot.  Better leg room than the others also.  It'd be nice to stretch out sometimes when I'm out of the city.  Gotta figure out how to add hwy pegs to the PS250.

Of course I'll hang around !
Here's the new RV 200 dressed to travel.

Truth is with the huge under seat storage and the Bikers-friend it won't be often ill need the saddlebags. She's a bit of a "wide-azz" with the saddlebags.

Without saddlebags (my day to day setup)

Ill call it a "mini-maxi".

The seat is stock. The bags are SEDICI Toscana Saddlebags I got a few years back at cycle gear and they are throw over/underseat. I think they were about $100.00. Same bags that if used on my s200.

The underseat storage is massive so its only long road trips that I'll need the saddles.

Contents from under seat .

Full face helmet
Rain Jacket and Pants
Long sleeve tee
HiVis Safety vest
Gloves and do rag
Small tool kit
Small backpack
Cane

My first choice was the Grand Vista but I wanted a new scoot and couldn't find a leftover at the right price.

That is a Ton of under seat storage!

Thanks for the photos.

What brand of roll bag is that, does the bag hold it's shape?

It's a Bikers Friend bag.

They hold there shape there's a piece of PVC pipe inside. I don't have the lumbar pad on in the pics. A bit pricey but build like a rock.

Hi! I'm new to this forum and fairly new to riding. I have this same scooter-a 2009 Kymco People s200. The farthest I have ridden is 545 miles in two days. Very much of it was uphill-in fact, from 900 feet to 7,300 feet. It was a comfortable ride and the scooter held up very well. I never expected it to do so well on the hills. Honestly, I wouldn't be afraid to take this scooter anywhere now that I know how well it does. It's a little bit scary on the interstate, but I only ride on those when there is absolutely NO other option!

IMO the P250 was one of the best all around scoots kymco brought over.
That said the SYM 171cc motor is amazingly strong. Except for top end its close to the P250. I've taken some long trips at 70plus on a RV200.

I rode from Jacksonville Florida to Mantoloking nj, 1100 miles, in three days on S200.

They were long days but not hard on the body. The biggest pain was the refueling.
It seemed like I was stopping for gas every hour or two......
Oh wait I was !

It's no touring BMW but it was a hell of a lot of fun. Go for it you only live once.

Never needed to get on the turnpike.
Over the Delaware memorial bridge then 295 to 130 and on into the pines till I hit the beach.
