Ended up with a 10w-40 Castrol motorcycle engine, o'reilly auto parts didn't' had the 15-40w on quarts and they don't carry the 20w-40. Is all good I will be switching to full synthetic racing oil at 1000 miles.

Its ok as long as you got the summer weight 40 or 50. The winter weight "10w, 15w" doesn't really matter on hot weather.

Oh earlier, I meant 20w/50 if you ride hard.

lol, they had 20w-50 but I didn't choose trying to stay close to recommendation, next time I'll get that one full syn.

ooops!    Anyway, next time this will be your guide.  The first number with the "w" is the winter weight. The lower the number, the better its capability to flow in low (cold) temperatures. The second number, without the "w". The higher the number, the better it is to flow on very high or hot temperatures.

    That's called oil viscosity. Don't forget your other oil. You also have to change your gear oil. You will have several choices also 80w90, SAE 80, SAE 90, etc. It's cheaper to buy the ones used in cars.
