Yeah but i still like vinyl L.P's instead of mp3's, proper books and newspapers instead of e-papers and e-books and F.M radio over DAB
Miles where there before KM, ALL our road signs are in miles, ALL our speed signs are in MPH so i'll stick with them.
Why change something if it works?
Of course you do. MP3's would take 8 times as much space, if they were the same quality as L.P's. Also, CD's cant have as much tracks on it, if they were L.P quality, and since most MP3's are ripped from CD's, the only way to get L.P quality music is directly from the producer.
Also, only the very best (and very expensive) e-papers and e-books will give the same result in light as a normal book in a properly lighted room, and for this reason, close to none of us have seen e-papers or e-books as good as the normal kind.
So why change it if it works, you say? Because its cheaper to manufacture, saves resources, and are easier to destribute, which will end up distributing mediocre things to everybody, and the mediocre will be improved, and then we, as a kulture and race has evolved.
And btw, km and miles was on the same time, along with a thousand other measurements, according on which village you went to. When most villages were united by roads and trading routes, some kind of standart was necerssary. Some places, this standart ended up as km and some places as miles. As time goes by, the standarts had to change from national to international standarts, and here came the S.I. (Standart Index) which is all the global standarts linked together by the measurement of force, Newton.
I'm sorry for the history lesson, but i hope to have illuminated your minds.
