Scorpion exhaust for the ZX/50
« on: April 21, 2012, 01:39:59 AM »
I just ordered the Scorpion pipe I've been trying to find for a month. Cynthia at Scooter Alley Hawaii is the source. There are three top pipes for the Dio af18 engines, and The Scorpion is one of them. These are made in the Philippines in a ONE man shop. They are an Infinite baffle design that is very easy to dial in , and have a relatively broad power band. Being a baffle pipe they offer the best low end torque you can get in a pipe, as well as a 1000rpm power band. The pipe I ordered is set for 8'500-9'500rpm. This is smack dab on for the Polini Corsa jug as well as MANY other jugs for the Dio's. The other two TOP pipes are the Burial Euro Blaze, and the Windjammer. These are both Expansion chamber pipes, and are a bit harder to dial in, and don't have as much low end torque. BUT are wicked strong at the set power band. I have all three on the way, and will fill you in on the results. I'll give a few links to see what they are, as well as the sources.
I'd sure like to see a few of these on the forum.... These are the TOP pipes, and nothing in the US compares.
Scooter Alley  cynyo21@yahoo.com   Scorpion pipe  (cynthia is the contact there)
  Webike Japan http://japan.webike.net/products/1911120.html  Burial pipe
  WeBike Japan http://japan.webike.net/products/9631529.html  Windjammer
WeBike is free shipping, and takes 10 -14 days after payment for shipping  WB offers I post only
Scooter Alley is the same. SA offers fed ex or usps

I think I should make a note on the Scorpion... The pipe is as ugly as it is strong. The welds are stronger than the original metal on any proper welding job. That is the purpose of the 50 cut design in the header pipe. The more weld the stronger the bend.
There is one other pipe I would like to add, and that is the ten cuts pipe also hand made by one craftsman in the Phillipines. Here is that pipe.
http://www.sulit.com.ph/index.php/classifieds+directory/q/ten+cut+pipes?x=2
I have received an email back, and am told the pipes are not for export by Gerry, and local pick up is the only option. Now if only I knew someone in the Philippines... Hmmmmm.
Check out how little he charges...$49.00 USD
I just spent 1,500.00 on three others w/ 30.00 in shipping fee's on ONE
I'll say it again... I just don't get it...

There are a lot of confusing infos I get about ten cut. They say that the guy who made the ten cut is a worker from HGM (another pipe factory here) who left HGM and opened his own factory. He named the products "Ten Cut". With the popularity of ten cut, other backyard shops replicate ten cut and also call them ten cut. Now, these ten cut replicas look like the original, I don't know. One replica even had a ten cut emblem or sticker on it. Even Jad's pipes look like ten cut. These products are backyard products and are not monitored or registered. Every replica maker here will tell you they are the "original". How do we tell the difference?

I already responded Sentinex. please review "cool scoot posts".   Anyway, Zombie already knows I'm from the Philippines. The thing here is ever since motorbikes became very popular, the business of pipes, both for 2 stroke and 4 stroke, flourished like mushrooms after a thunderstorm.  You can see pipe shops almost everywhere. From where I live, there are three pipe shops. In the big cities (where I live) pipes are mostly stainless thunder boxes for 4 strokes. 2 stroke pipes are found in far away provinces where the dios and jogs are abundant (most are unregistered/untitled, full-race, skeleton bikes). There are locally made pipes, pipes imported from Taiwan, Thailand, China and Japan, and of course replicas.

See! Now that's the land of milk, and honey. I'm just busting your chops on the pipe anyway. I see what you mean tho... I'm getting like Slinger on buying scoots. Even if they smell like poo!
I have enough.

The more I read posts, the more I get interested in these 2-strokers. I never understood (before) why people flock into dio parts stores in the metropolis. What's the fuzz?  Hmmm... I can build one, with your help of course, maybe use a scorpion or ten cut, tune it for 100 octane, have Jad graphics cut me a "Zombie" sticker, Wow! A Zombie Dio in Asia! The meanest, baddest, fastest dio in the world!!! Wake me up!!

For that design (scorpion), I had heard good results from the Phongeer pipe.
I dont know myself.

I do like one of those pipes you linked to though.... :D

Phongeer is actually a copy of the JAD, and Scorpion. Phon. is the most popular pipe in Hawaii for Dio's as they are dirt cheap, and readily replaceable.
That was the first pipe I ordered http://www.taiwantrade.com.tw/phongeer/products-detail/en_US/399410/_DIO_hand_made_race_chamber_muffler
I unwrapped it, and returned it in the same day. It is the same gauge steel used in the JW pipe that cracked all over the pipe. The JW is what melted my last Ruima piston (JCC), and lead me on this Quest for good stuff. I now have a Polini Corsa, (for one engine), and the Malossi MHR for the second engine, and have no intention of using cheap parts again. Spend once, and save twice!
I have both engines ready to re-build but haven't found the time yet.

The fellow that advertises on Sulit would be the one to ask. I would really not know.

Once again... Point taken. He did answer one email stating he would not ship to the US. Perhaps he is Not the originator...
The Quest has ended... For now.
I realy only need two more pipes anyway. One for the GY6 (ebay), and one for the not yet purchased Aprilia (HGT). So I'm pretty well covered... For now.

A LOT! I melted the Ruima Kit due to cracks in the JW pipe, and a wrist pin clip took out the 47.5mm Malossi. The Malossi has served me well so it is going to the trash bin, and JCC (makers of the Ruima kit piston) have stopped making the piston. I'll keep the jug for a spare, and use a Wiesco piston in it.
I've hooked up Dealer status for:
 Airsal
 Dellorto
 Doppler
 Malossi
 Metrakit
 NCY
 Polini
 Posh
 Tecnigas
 Leovince
as well as loads of other stuff/brands so I can afford to throw the good stuff on. It took a year of working out details but it is a done deal.
I posted on a few forums that I will beat any advertised price by 10% on any parts I can get. It's all PayPal too.

You missed alot in the past 2 weeks...
