« on: April 26, 2012, 06:22:04 PM »
Hey guys , so i just got new battery for my super 8 but still no power :( when kick start it it runs good , turn signals horn everything works but the whole scooter does not take power from the battery at all . I check fuses and all 3 are 10A . But not shure if they should be 10A maybe 7A ??

So what would you check first ?

Thanks

Check for corrosion on the fuse and see if the holder is loose.  Do you mean the scooter won't start using the electric starter? Please clarify.

Well just change all fuses , Clean up starting switch , check all cables , check battery , cdi looks fine no side crack ... But still the scooter start only if i kick started . If i turn the key on  i cant started with el. Starter , horn is not working turn signals not working , front lights not working , only back lights works .. And if i kick started front lights , horn , turn signals works only with high rpm looks like there is no battery , but battery is brain new .

I just dont get it :(
I wAs working like kymco mechanic for 3 years in the shop but never with super 8 :(
Sorry for my english , still learning .

Thanks

Re-check battery. Or try other battery just to be sure.

I would bet it is a bad ground going between the engine, and the frame. Or you have a blown rectifier. The rectifier is located under the front cowl, and can be bought for as little as 3 bucks on ebay. All the symptoms are normal for your problem.
Look in the general section here for a thread called Links to Manuals. There is an s8 manual there for free.

Since you're at the wires, you can replace those glass fuse with the ATC blade fuses. Those glass fuse holders corrode and gets loose that will result to overheating and fuse failure. You will need three blade fuses and three ATC fuse holders.

Maybe find a pal to help trace the bad wire/s. Or since you have it that far maybe a local scooter rental shop can "take a quick look"
