ZX50 Gears????

I am looking for some gearing for my zx50,  I heard that s primary gears fit or something like that....or do they make a kit?.....I am looking for maybe 7:1 or 8:1 or something like that.

Id like to change my gearing as well. I have AF05e malossi primary gears and DIO secondaries. Not sure if either will work but Im going to look into it. The secondaries are Ruima brand is 19x37 or 6.82:1 in the AF16 and the malossi was 16/32 or 7.53:1 in the AF05e I think. The kymco AF18 has a 10.5:1 ratio stock I think and AF05e stock is 11:1 and AF16 dio is 12:1. I  think. Kymcos AF18 has a 12 inch wheel also.
I may try to see if these Ruimas fit when they come in from ebay. The malossis are both press to fit so I would have to have my friends shop do them.
Has anyone had experience with doing either of these gear swaps?

the secandary gear has spline and is not pressed like a dio would be...i know because i bought dio gears and opened up my zx trans to find out its different..........

Good to know! I hate opening trans cases, first time the gaskets always tear. So the kymco gears are held on by a c clip and not pressed on? If so I think I saw something around my parts bin that may work.
I saw some other people changed there gears but I cant see what they used or how they did it. Hopefully they will see the post. I wonder if you swap the whole dio secondary in rather than using the kymco one it will line up. Im going to mess with mine when the gears get in, also Im going to try to find some stock dio trans gears.I have a set of stock AF05e gears and malossi primarys for it. Mix n match like shake n bake, its bound to turn something undesirable into goodness.
Keep me informed if you find anything out for sure. As I do mine Ill keep a thread open on it.

I swapped my secondaries with some Motorio gears I got from Moped Hospital.  I don't think they have any left though.  You are correct...the secondary is splined in the center and held on with a c-clip.  I had to have the intermediate shaft pressed though.

I read that malossi primary  gear set #676458 works on our scoots, this guy on the honda forums sells them for 90 shipped to the lower US. I have a set that I will be trying to install later this week. I hope it works.

the 458 is the correct set. It is made for the DK or DJY something like that. I ordered mine from SPI, and have been waiting 3 weeks. Apparently due to the age of the engine Malossi has to cut a set for me. I also have 8.3:1 secondaries installed to get me to 6.7:1 final is the goal but it may wind up at 7.3:1 I wont know till the primaries come in.
The ZX is a F'n nightmare for tuning. Have to change/Mod every part. I have NOTHING OEM left in the engine including the cases.
But I am expecting 80mph when finished.Hope it scares the sh** out of me.

If you order the malossi gear from Keith at Red eft Performance it will be shipped the same day or so. Those gears are the same exact gears for the AF05e honda elite engine. Which means you can use the older type of gears for hondas. Kinda crazy an AF18 using AF05e primary. But for real order them from this guy and you will get them fast

Seems like you and I are learning at the same time here. This is my first AF18 build, I have had a few AF05e and 1 AF16, and modified them all. Seems like the AF16 is the easiest and most readily available one to mod and get parts for. These AF18s are known to have weak cranks Ive read. But for the most part its all interchangeable.
I hope we both get what were looking for out of this.

The cranks are fine. I've eaten close to a dozen pistons with four kits on the same crank/bearings.

Sorry to make you break your promise but i do indeed have these gears In stock in the USA. Usually show up to your house in 3-4 days. Only 2 sets left but more on the way.  Everything I sell is in stock in the USA.

I'm Real Happy to hear that. I called every supplier I know, and No one had them... I wound up having Malossi cut a set for me, and total is 5 weeks waiting. Wish I knew about you before all this. I do need a second set of Primaries but am going with a Polinni set because the Malossi's are not tall enough. They just bumped me from 8.3:1 to 7.5:1. Wasn't worth the wait.
