So I left him out in a slight rain with the keys in the ignition, circuit running. When I try to start him up now theres the first whirring noise (what you'
d hear with a broken spark plug) then it changed to kinda of an electrical farting noise coming from one of the cords near the seat. Yes, everything is plugged in. Recharge the battery? It has enough juice to produce decent high beams... but actually pretty weak. Hmmm.

Yeah try charge the battery. Mine kept going flat every week so i had to recharge it, rear red light was dim too, not the brake light just the normal rear red light, headlight was dim, turn out to be my regulator. Maybe just a flat battery on your tho ao a charge may fix it.

I ran jump leads off my car battery to the scoot and it fired up just fine so i knew it wasnt the starter etc and had to be a battery/charging issue after that.
Chaos is my co-pilot.

The nopise ios coming from my regulator, I'm also giving the battery an appropriate trickle charge. We shall see.

...sounds like just an arc caused by moisture, which is somewhat odd to me, as i ride in the pouring rain sometimes with no electrical issues...

..possible that you might blow a fuse, until everything dries out...suspect a lamp socket is wet??
..every mod (action) necessitates a (reaction) mod..

Bounce it around to get the big droplets out. It may have been just enough of a circuit to allow the starter motor to slowly spin all night. Your battery may have committed suicide.
