Streido, what is you and what seems to be general opinion of UKIP's Nigel Farage?
What is the position of UKIP within UK's political system? Is it a marginal party of influencial one?
I know that it has a substantial number of seats in European Parliament but they never won seats in the House of Commons.
Like WK says, UKIP is a bit of a fringe party, not mainstream at all and thought of as i kind of joke party for white middle class people who are a little anti-immigration but dont want to look too racist by voting for the BNP, at least thats how i see it anyway, a kind of lighter version of the BNP without the skinheads, BNP for adults maybe
. They dont campaign in Scotland really as we have little or no interest in any of their policies or plans up here. All i ever remember from their last election campaign in England was seeing Nigel Farage on TV constantly saying "Vote UKIP. We will keep the £. We will stop Europe messing in British acfakrs, blah, blah, blah". I dont know if Farage or the party is actually racist or not but they are Pro-British and seem to think England still has an empire to run, which it doesnt.
I saw farage on a tv political question panel show a few times and he usually talks nonsense or makes some stupid comment which is ripped apart and shown as complete crap by the interviewer or other guests. Personally i think Farage is just a little naive and not as intelligent as he thinks he is, he actually comes across as a little dumb to me.
No. He or his party have very little input or influence in the UK. Pundits seem to think they only get votes for European elections because in Emgland nobody really cares about the European parliment so they will vote for him as a kind of protest vote. I honestly dont know why he is goven the media attention he gets here
He and his party are nothing in UK politcs really, just a distraction.
The guy who hates Europe and the European parliment so much would be out of a job without it, ironic and kinda funny really
