Kaoko cruise control
« on: May 06, 2012, 11:27:34 PM »
Anyone know if the KYM100 for the Xciting 500 will work on the DT300i? I don't care if it matchs the handle bar weight or not.

Personally, I prefer this one..   http://www.bikebone.com/miva/graphics/00000002/CB3cbust_pic3.gif

I'm more concerned of the "safety" side.

Actually I had that on my last scooter. In an accident, when I was breaking hard I was also hard on the throttle because of it.  I threw them away after! I used throttle lock on my motorcycle for years with no problem.

I don't know if they have one that will fit or not, Kymcos aren't listed but one for another scooter might fit (Burgman or Silverwing maybe?) but I really like the Breakaway ones. They have a thumb release button as well as a release on breaking function.
They just slip over your grip and have a friction type lock with a connection to your existing break leaver mount.

It is tested quit well. I am planning a trip probably in a week or 2 of about 700K as a final test. The trip is the end of june and round trip will be between 6 and 7000k. BTW I have a bunch of pictures to put up once I figure the best way.

I believe it is the GIVI T455 Scooter bag.

You are right on the tunnel bag. Everything on the bike is Givi except for the seat bag which is a custom bag frm Twisted Thottle. I am not home right now so don't have the catalog here to look it up.

Did a test run on the unit today. 300k south east to Regina Sask. Supposed to be about 10k wind today.  Wind picked up all the way down. Running about 110K with W/NW wind, all bags loaded heavy for a good test run. Mileage about 79 miles per imp. gal. Same trip back head wind around 30k with gusts over 50k. Running 90 to 100k fuel milage 62 miles per. Very hard to hold in those side gusts. Hope I don't have winds like that on my trip next month. Total trip today was 612k.

Lots of people will hate the idea but I have always used a thick "o" ring between the grip, and the lever mount as a cruise control. There is just enough friction to hold the throttle, and nothing to fiddle with. Cost is almost .80 cents. (I know right!)
