Hi Cortez.  I have followed you over here from another forum!
Still loving my Agility 125, but in full fantasy mode about my next bike...
I would like one that I could comfortably take on the interstate, and not sure if the People 300 would accomplish this...
Do I need to step all the way up to an Exciting 500?
Again, just a fantasy right now, but a guy has to have dreams...
Thanks!

Just got back from Rome and saw quite a few of those Gileras.  Nice looking machines.

The difference in top speed between those two is 4,3 MPH.
If one can do it, so can the other.  ;D

I've done a 1500 mile trip in 4 days on my DT300, avoided highways until I got too tired, and
then then jumped on, averaged 75mph.

Dr Pulley sliders took the revs down by about 500 at cruising speeds so I wouldn't hesitate
doing 80 either.

The XC500 will be faster between 60mph and top speed, but only if both are stock.

Now with the Multivar CVT and Dr Pulley sliders inside the DT will do 8,5-9seconds to 60mph,
which is faster then most 500cc scoots, and very close to a stock Tmax 500. You do the math.  ;)

Thanks again Cortez!  So the speed of the two is similar, but as far as ride...
Would a bigger bike be much smoother?
Thanks again!

HI Ken
Cortez just blows me away with his knowledge of these scoots. I've owned an 09 XC 500Ri since January. As a total novice with any two wheel vehicle I bought big because I'm big 6'1 and 225. Have some paralysis in the left foot due to back surgeries so changing gears on a motorcycle was out. The Maxiscooter was perfect for my needs. I can run this bad girl at 70mph all day and no straining or overheating. It seems like she wants to do more. Big brute weighs almost 500lbs and is totally smooth and stable. She takes the curves and twisties with a smooth transition through the apexes and is just total fun to ride. I don't know your size but I would go with the XC500 because you would not be disappointed and looking for more power/speed. I hope this helps but listen to what Cortez has to say and take it to the bank.
Mike

Hi Mike.  Thanks!  Yes Cortez is a wealth of info and pics.  I am 6'2 200' so the exciting would be great...
Still in fantasy mode, but by next spring, I hope to be ready...
Thanks!
