It will help to grind off the point from your drill bits. That is if you are going to drill out the boss for a collar. Leave just the cutting edge to get the hole, and do it in 3-4 steps so you really can't mess it up. I use wet sand bags for odd shaped stuff with a level across the top surface. You can bed your part in the sand bag, and it will stay pretty well. Just go easy like a surgeon.

Gonna hate to see you leave N.C. but sometimes things like that happen.  ;)
But dam, aren't you moving to constant rain? ...  :D
Dam sure hope to still have contact regardless of the state.  ;)  :D

There's the key!!!!

You guys have me thinking....... That's some scary thoughts though,
but it may have to be a reality.  :-X

Hey guys, I had a small issue. The water-pump started leaking on me OMW home. I was creeping her ass home.... Luckily i had the w-p from my black S9. Installed that one and changed the cvt.  :-[

I wasn't thinking about it before but i happened to have 2 different belts and went to measure. I can 2nd  THE Word man's post and pics.  ;)
A gates 748x18x28
OEM Bando belt.......Gates IS longer....

I never knew....or paid attention..
I changed the cvt.. Installed an Motrio clutch w/stiff ass flys, Malossi Violet contra w/unrestricted pulley, OEM var. w/LV 5.7g rollers, AND the Gates bel..(used of course)
She revved to 7-8g's BEFORE it would even move. VERY revvy Wouldn't even cross the LR floor with out being at 8g's +... I had asked an opinion  ;) and was stated it was the belt, swap contra out, then see.
I was thinking the flys but i dont know, that's why i asked.  :D
Here is the belt travel i was getting with the looser set-up..........

Not bad but dam sure not great.
Both of the belts i have measure JUST UNDER 17mm.(1's like 16.6..then 16.8)... The drive boss is 38.10mm... The belts may be reaching their limit at this point if they suppose to be 18mm..  :D
I hadn't gotten the chance today to mess with it. Had school today, rained yesterday and today AND suppose to rain tomorrow.  >:(
Going to change contra. (happen to have a slightly used NCY 1500)... May need some 6.5g's,  ???  :-\

The high rev's are the fly springs. And I do believe the belt is too worn for full travel. Id leave the contra till you sort out the flys. Then you will see better what the contra is doing

..i believe the contra to be the determining factor of how to set everything else up in the cvt....

That is the deciding factor.

What up guys?....
Well, needless to say the cvt has fkn dumbfounded me..

Zombie may have been on to something with those flys... I swapped everything around....Still had a nasty high rev to move.. Tried green contra, purple, and yellow.. Tried 4.5g-6.5g rollers
Settled back to the oem clutch w/Jasil 1500 flys.(still f'n stiff)
Malossi Violet contra w/un-restricted pulley
Bando belt w/4.5g rollers....
I cant tell if they are a tad TOOO light or not. Dam sure shifts smoother than w/5.1g's. Holds rpms' better w/o falling totally out the band.
Belt still didn't arrive at the TOP of the var. Same spot as before.. Could that be the 16.6-.7mm belt width----instead of 18mm when new?...(seen in pic it doesn't lack much ::))
OR IS IT still in the tuning?
I wanna try the gates belt since that's the belt i was using in the black S9.  ???
Maybe i should try it again since i used oem clutch again???????????
Seemed like it was SLLLOOOWWWER at take-off with the gates....
Maybe i shouldn't fine tune.  ;)

I really don't understand how an OEM carb w/OEM box w/OEM jets can be rich.....at all... But if i install the open filter she'll bog down hard

WHOA....... :o
Just thought about something....

If these belts are 18mm wide and mine reads @ 16.6..

This belt only has right at 6500 KMS on it..  :o  :-[
In my defense, the engine was built...

Dam, my tuning sux. That's a lot of wear for so few miles..
This is the gates 748x18x28 belt.....

Yep...heading out Sunday morning.  Taking a cross country road trip with my dad.  :-\
It doesn't rain all the time...just most.  ;)
I'll still be around. That's the beauty of the internet!  Just keep in mind I'll be 3 hrs behind you...no early calls please.  ;D

..yes it sure could!!!

..and i bet that 748 belt is a bit long, witha oem combustion setup...

..i believe you need more hp to run that belt...and a stiffer contra....

I went back to it...
I had to swap clutches again.  :-\
The oem clutch with the Jasil fltys gave me a 6200+ stall.. Bitch would not even consider moving till then. Thats way to much IMO.... THEN i couldn't get the flys back OFF..  :-X
Swapped an old clutch with old flys.

I went back and installed the Gates belt with the weaker set-up.... not bad..
Changed to 4.5g's... a Lot better, held the rpm on hills as well..... Continuious(for the most part) 9g taching.... did seem a hair to revvy sounding... swapped back to 5.1g.. The bitch falls out the band again... some 4.75 woiuld be nice i think.   I ain'ts gots me none of dem boss... :'(
I can get her close but then i install a stiffer contra and all fkn hell breaks loose.  :-[  ???   ::)
I think i'll try the Gates tommorrow and just keep the 5.1's that knock her down..

A stiffer contra acts similar to lightening the rollers.  If you put a stiffer contra in...increase to roller weight to compensate.

I had the red Malossi contra, and 9gr Malossi rollers in the Ruima. in a Prodigy Rukus var. Ate belts in a month. I'm glad it blew out...
