Belt size DT300I
« on: May 20, 2012, 07:56:35 PM »
JUst opened up the case to remove the sliders. Found the belt falling apart. I can't find the size anywhere. I will order an OEM belt but want to purchase something to run for now.

It was rubbing the case as well on the outside. The sliders were pushing it out to far.

I thought about it but it may have stretched. I did find one at gearhead.com but will be about 2 weeks.

The fleet! If I can't find a belt to work until the oem one gets here, I will insure the people S 125 for a while.

To be pushed that far out something must have gone wrong. I assumethough too this is the first version of the variator. There is a second version that seems with the stock rollers to have ann entirely different RPM profile where the sliders are not required. Don't remember the numbers off hand.

I haven't had an issue with mine as of yet, thankfully (as I search for some wood to knock on). I did seem to drop 2 MPG or so but that I think is the wrist having a bit more fun than before...................

LEA7 vs LGE5?

Make sure you report in when you check your belt and/or weights.
I'll be opening mine up at around 5000km (3000 miles or so) at the next oil change.

BTW - the new variator (the one from people) reacts even better to the sliders.
Still waiting for a test ride, but we have a guy here that put 14gr sliders in his People 300.
He's faster off the line then me, faster in every situation imaginable and even his top speed
is higher (100mph indicated).

I am hopping to find something tomorrow locally to use until the oem gets here. I want the oem in for the trip. I will report what is happening as I go. I had 14 g sliders in. I put the origan rollers back in now. I have had sliders on my S 125 for a couple of years with no problem so didn't expect anything like this on the DT.

I measured mine on the counter, made a mark on the belt and the counter rolled it to the mark again, marked it on the counter. i measured length to be 970mm width to be 24.0mm. not sure how to measure the angle.

Okay, I'm curious. So, you put the new variator (LGE5) in with 14gr sliders? What's his cruising RPM? Is it more revved up?
