Took the shaft off the pump and reinstalled the pump. O-ring was good. Shaft pulls right out of the pump. Very simple. I already had the inlet and vacuum lines plugged

I'm going to give it a go this weekend.  Seems like a better move.  Is the o-ring plastic or something else?  Since my People is a 2005 I worry that it's going to be all tore up...

Standard rubber O ring from any auto parts store. About .30 cents.
