Nope we don't have that switch in the USA version of the super 8, Im going to call the central offices and complain, and you probably right  streido those light are not probably wired in ours.

No need to call Kymco USA to complain as it is not their fault.  All motorcycles sold in the US since 1978 must have their headlight on whenever the ignition is turned on.  It's a federal regulation, not something Kymco can over-rule.

streido: Yes, the switch (Off/Park-City/On) on the right hand assembly is blanked off.  The left hand assembly has the Low/High (dip/main) switch on the front (facing the rider) and the "Flash-to-Pass" pull trigger on the rear facing the brake lever.

Also in the US we have a minimum distance regulation between the headlight and turn signal (edge to edge distance).  Because of this many models sold here have dummy bulbs inserted into the position of the original turn signal and the signal has been moved to the front of the mirror or attached to the handlebar.

Many of us modify our front lighting to enable a light or turn signal in the original position.  For example if you scroll down this page you will see some changes done to my Downtown (Nikita/Grand Dink/Super Dink) 300i:

300i downtown   we have a passing light and a high beam and a low beam , I hooked my eur. turn signal to running lights and the led.  ring around the high beams to running lights , and I installed hid s in my low beams ,. I have hid s  in the high beam too ,  but I find it is a  lousy  focus, so I dont use high beam, the next time I remove the front clip (front end ) I will go back to reg. H8 light bulbs,

Thought i would prob be down to local laws. Its not really a bad thing, i always ride with my main light on anyway, night or day, its much safer. At least you guys wont ever forget to switch them on  :)

I put HIDs in the high beam just for spare parts - that way I don't have to carry spare bulbs or ballasts under the seat on longer trips (can't go into the local auto part store and get HID replacement parts).  99% of my riding is in town so I rarely need to use the high beams.  The HID low beams have way too much glare so I will be installing projectors soon.

And to keep on the thread topic - the LEDs that I've had very good luck with are from V-LEDS.com although they are quite expensive so I'll be looking for another supplier.  I may have to browse Alibaba also.

The reason why I placed those bright LEDs is to use them as daytime driving lights. This help conserve electricity. I even use them as headlight when I go to places where there are good streetlights illuminating the streets. 

Do you have audible turn signals also in the U.S.? This is a nice and safe feature because you'll never forget to turn off your turn signal after making a turn.

We have audible signal alarms on many models but every day you see a motorcycle/scooter driving for many kilometers with a turn signal flashing..

On my Downtown I hear mostly the relays going "click-clank click-clank click-clank" as my turn signals activate two extra relays per side.  If you have seen my bad quality video from the other thread (I posted a link to it a few messages back) you can hear the relay noise starting at 00:10.

Wordslinger does not need to use his headlights at night - the glow from the LEDs looks to be enough.. <grin>
