Polini Corsa warranty
« on: June 04, 2012, 04:21:04 PM »
I just got my second Corsa today, first one I didnt port or chamfer it. The guy I sold the scoot with it on is still running it hard everyday so I know its not necessary but is it a good idea being as Polini will actually warranty there product not like Malossi. But if I modify it the warranty is voided of course. Its just nice to see a manufacturer stand by his product. I got a malossi 65cc bore and AF05e for free because the malossi cast iron cylinder chipped away at the ports and they wont warranty it in any way. I just honed and chamfered it, threw in a new piston and off I went, but having an implied and expressed warranty is always tops.
Back to the real question though, how many people with the Corsa have not chamfered it prior to installing and never had any issues also? After the malossi ordeals I dont want to waste another $300 but it will take 3 days for the shop to get to it. I leave in 4 days for 2 weeks.
Oh and how many people got new head bolts with their corsa, mine didnt have any.

Mine came with reeds/pin/clips/pin bearing/piston/bolts/stickers/jug/head/spark plug. I ran one cylinder years ago that I installed out of the box. The piston caught the exhaust port, and broke the con rod/crank/head/jug. It also broke my collar bone when I went over the bars at 75+mph. That was my Maico 490, and I am actually still upset about not doing it right the first time.
One last thing. The Corsa comes with an installation guide that states you Must relieve the port edges to allow the rings to work un hampered. You will love the jug.

Just finished porting the hell out of it. I can taste metal... I paid the Vespa shop 10 bucks to chamfer it, well worth it. Probably spent just as much in dremel bits to port it too, I shoulda just paid them the extra 50 to do it all. Still feels good to do the porting myself.
Mine didnt come with cylinder bolts, doesnt look like theres room in this box for them either.
What kind of shim will work for the stud kit? Im planing on going to lowes/ home depot tomorrow to look at something.

Now you got me... What porting did you do?
I'm not sure what you mean by shims for the studs.
