Did anyone check their top speed and how accurate the speedometer is on this scooter?

66 sounds good. How many miles do you have on yours? I'm still in the break-in period and taking it easy.

I have 1990 miles on my KYMCO  Super 8  150. Purchase on March 16 2009 at New Smyrna Beach Scooters.
Scooter handles and rides real good!

You must be riding everywhere! I got mine in December 2008 and didn't ride it much until it got warmer outside. I took the MSF course in April and since then have 345 miles on it. I missed the 200 mile service but am getting that done on Tuesday at the dealer.

I got mine from Ray's Yamaha in Reading, PA.

You're right about it being a great handling scooter! What a fun bike! I got the blue/yellow. I was also considering a Piaggio Fly 150 or a UM Matrix II 150.

Living in Florida i can ride all year round. During bike week I went down A1A with all the bikers, that was really good. Today i put on only 66 miles. My wife wanted me to go shopping with her so i came home early.

First day I got up to 60 (as indiccated on the spedo) on a flat road.  With a good tuck it would have gone higher.  I'll check it with the GPS.

I have read that the spedo is not accurate on scooters. I went 66mph, but is that accurate? Took scooter to work this morning. Rained on my way to work rained all day, left work still raining scooter started up on first try rode home in the rain. Very impressed with scooter!

I have 450 miles on mine and I get a top speed of 61mph ever since breakin time over. I weigh 250# so I guess that is a good speed.

I wanted to put a YOSHIMURE exhaust muffler on the bike. They have had one for the 50cc super8 but not the 150. This past mo. they came out with one for the 150 but after talking with thier tech dept. today I will pass on buying a quote "preformance muffler" from them.
I asked the tech for a dyno print out to see if it really would do any thing (preformance wise) for the $350 price tag... I was told that it was "to small to fit on the dyno?" there for no preformance results were aviable or would be in the future !!!
I said wow so i pay 3 1/2 bills for a muffler that does nothing and they said " its for looks and sound only !!

Oh wow a do-nothing $350 piece of junk, just what we need ,right...

I was told by the shop I bought my scooter at that YOSHIMURE EXHAUST was the hot ticket item in racing/preformance mufflers.
I guess we as scooter riders don't qualify as a market that needs a little added zip in our bikes.

Yeah I fell for the yoshi trap too but it sure does look and sound nice and it does work well in concert with other A/F mods. Anyway I weigh 300 pounds and top out at 67 Ind. 58 MPH varified by GPS.

300lb'er..  i recently rode it 200 miles.. best speed was 65mph on long flat stretches.  wasnt much throttle left at that point.

rode thru a nasty rainstorm.. kept it at 35-40mph for best control.

ironbutt when i was done..LOL

2009 4500 miles

I have found it is 5mph faster on the speedo than the actual speed... I get 60mph on the speedo without any difficulty... any mile per hour above that is a long wait.  I did have the wind at my back and I was surprised to see my speedo at 68mph... when I rode back against the wind, 60mph as usual was max.
I will ski till Hell freezes over... then I will have no fear of death.

We have two of them. Both speedos read about 10% high (so 40 indicated = 36 actual; 60 indicated = 54 actual). I've had one of them up to 65 indicated, but it takes a while. It's a happy camper at 60 indicated.
