Leo Vince fitted, got a question tho.
« on: June 12, 2012, 07:21:18 PM »
Just fitted my Leo Vince (thanks Rookie  :) ) looks amazing  8)

My scoot looks years newer and more modern now, and that rip off it........ ;D

Man its loud, may need to wear ear plugs now when i ride lol.

Anyway, questions,

Whats the best thing to do about the mount for the rear mudguard that is on the stock exaust but isnt on a Leo? Do you make up a bracket to support the mudguard or just leave it free?

I felt at WOT i got a little "pulsing" feeling at times, kinda feels like i go go up a jet size cos it was simililair to when i 1st derestricted and ran on a 80 jet till my new one arrived. Once my 82 went in the feeling went away, tho im not entirely sure it is the same as it was ages ago.

Anyone else whos running a Leo Vince have to upjet or are you all still on 82 jets? According to the Leo Vince site you do not need  to upjet

May just need more air in so i plan on trying my open filter and bigger jet (again) at the weekend maybe.

I had the same issue with mud flap when I installed the exhaust I currently have fitted, your talking about the little bracket that hangs off the right side if you were staring at it from the back right? If so, I took a black zip tie and secured it around the little bracket on the fender and then looped it around something about 8 inches above the bracket. I can't recall what exactly I have it looped around but it's like it's just suspended a little bit so it doesn't sit on the muffler and melt all over it. Not the most professional fix but since I used black zip ties no one ever notices. just kinda blends in.

Cool. I ordered a few new plugs last night for chops and an 84 jet to try with the stock air box. I got every jet size from 88-120 now too, apart from a 90, so im hoping i can finally dial it all in on my open filter this weekend if its dry. That zaust is loud as it is so once an open filter is on the houses will be shaking as i ride up the road lol.

I did almost do the same tie-wrap thing as you last night Kenho  :D Will look tonight and work something out, its not anything difficult to bodge up some bracket. I waa wondering if that kind of "pulsing" was maybe just as simple as my mudguard rubbing on my back tyre at full speed? If the wind pushed it about it could just be that, will have done 20-25miles today so going to check under the mudguard tonight for any evidence of this.

Kisbee....... i bought it off another forum member, The Rookie, who was re-restricting and puttimg back to stock an A50 for his daughter. Looks almost new but cost less than the £100+ for a new one and delivery.

Hi mate, looks familiar!
Glad it arrived OK (ignore my PM!), previous owenr hadn't done anything just left the rear hugger floating with no mount at all at that point.

I took the spring off to try and split the exhaust for shipping, nothing moves and I've a feeling it's actually just cosmetic!
