I took mine to Oak Mountain State Park in Alabama, riding two up with my girlfriend and some gear it did just fine. I live in Birmingham, AL (very hilly/mountainous city) on the steepest grade i've climbed riding two up it's only slowed down to 40. Unless you're wanting to cruise at 60 down "highway mountains" it's more than capable for getting around campgrounds/state parks with low speed limits.

And yes mine did gather food and have a rabbit dinner waiting for me after a short hike.
