man, that sucks.  It looked like just water, but a couple of things he did wrong, but hard to tell from the video, you should get off the throttle and don't hit the brakes, not sure which it was, his rear tire may have been spinning, but he was in a bit of a turn, but looks like he may have braked some....ouch

Black ice  ;)

He did let off the throttle and he didn't hit the brakes. He was in a very slight lean but not much. It's why black ice is so dangerous.

He was doing so well in the beginning.

I thought that might be one of those "Turn your speakers all the way up videos".

Yuck!
I did it and I'm glad.

..i ride year round...

..in my area, black ice is common, and IS noticable, if you know how to distinguish between water and ice on the road...

..it's an aquired skill, no doubt...

Theory is nice but you will fall on that big patch of ice no matter what... he would not fall maybe if he had spiked tires and was of Scandinavian ancestry, *AND* used to race enduro bikes in snow/ice...

Yeah, with skis instead of tiny wheels... but then we'd be on a snowmobile forum.  ;D
