Thanks for the props guys!
The basic stuff... OEM it will do 40-45 for several years before needing a piston/rings. It's a pretty strong OEM set up. meaning the parst are robust enough to last. In 4 years of owning mine it has been thru several incarnations. Oem jug, and a set of secondary gears, it will run 50mph all day long.
Malossi sport/gears/pipe it will do 55-60 for a few miles, and you will feel the power fall off to 50 where you can cruise.
Do some porting, and add a GOOD pipe (next RSII) and 65-70 is reachable adding a good Var, and clutch.
Go NUTS, and spend 4k on all sorts of goodies, and 80 is easy. I'm not done installing bits yet but I have a goal of 90mph.
The frame needs work to run over 60 but nothing crazy... the brakes can be upgraded using either Agility, or S9 calipers, and Malossi pads. It is a HEAVY bike at 200lbs, and Most of the weight is in the front 1/2 of the bike so it feels real stable in corners, and I have scraped the side plastics around 45-50 mph in the past. I like it.
There is NO limit to the parts you can get. I have a new 87cc water cooled cylinder kit for another ZX engine to try out. You cant get these for any other Kymco. Polini/Malosi both offer top shelp race rep kits for the engine, and I have sources for some of the best power pipes on earth for these.
My bike cost 300.00 in Mint used condition. I have seen them selling for 600-800 local.
If you want an everyday commuter it is a good choice, and if you want to leave your balls at the stop light it can be done.
