Luminous key hole
« on: June 21, 2012, 06:21:53 AM »

I just want to share a solution to a problem everytime I park in the dark. I can't seem to shoot my key quicker than the usual because I can't see the key hole. I was thinking of a lighted key holder but seems like a short term solution. Batteries go dead and rain damages it. A cheap but effective solution is to paint luminous paint on the area near the key hole using Litroenergy luminous paint.

Litroenergy paints can glow in the dark for 12 years without exposure to the sun. This is also great for body panels instead of reflectorized stickers or LEDs.

Or just buy a key with a led light on it?

Why just pain by the key hole? Why not paint the whole scoot with it? It would definitely improve your visibility at night.

+2

but you also. may end up glowing in the dark after a while.

If its got radium in it like axys post i would avoid it. They recently had to decontaminate a beach here in Scotland. from radiation caused by plane dials that were buried after the war. The Luminous dials wete radioactive. Maybe this new sruff is safe.......but i dont know. Or you could wear a rad suit when riding i s'pose  :D

You could just smash a bunch of lightning bugs. Rub that all over your scoot  ;)

Radium? C'mon guys. Let Marie Curie rest in peace!!! ;D ;D ;D

I'm also a watch collector and this is the new trend in watches. Believe me, its safe...

(these are original on the watches not painted)

(some only have the markers glow)

Painted on scooter? Don't laugh because people are doing it already!   ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

My bro has a helmet with luminous inserts on it, think its same product on it but it came on it from new. Loks cool and glows for hours at a time, would want to be 100% sure they had no radium in them tho 1st. Had a look on the website for this company and its all pretty vague what its made from, no data sheet or info on whats in it, all it says is its "safe" and its "non-toxic", sure they once said that about smoking too tho  :D

They use Tritium and not Radium.   Maybe painting a small part on a scoot with this won't make us into mutants..  ;D ;D ;D

Not for me then, unless it can be proven 99.9% safe. Says it can be inhaled or ingested so i guess if i was spraying it would be dodgy and even once it was on the scoot i would be nervous when polishing or washing it in case some was comjng off onto my skin. Wouldnt wamt my kids near it either so they couldnt come on the back of the scoot any more  :'(

I emailed the company to ask for a data sheet if poss, let you know if i get an answer.
