Arrrrrrggghhh  its driving me crazy I can't get this off to replace the clutch springs (large one and the three small ones)....  what is the size of the nut holding it together???? I just got back from 4 different part stores trying to find one for my impact wrench with no luck (clutch in hand at the stores)....  can anyone help with a good way to remove this sucker?

Thanks!!!!

Which nut? The nut that holds the bell housing on or the big nut inside that holds the clutch on?

Think its a 14mm for the bell housing and i use a big adjustable wrench for the nut inside.

I just use a normal socket on my inpact wrench for the rear, been fine for years so far.

Use a metal band oil filter removal tool round the clutch, loosen the big nut with a spanner/adjustable wrench a little then stand on the edges of tje clutch so it wont spring up when you fully loosen the nut. Fully loosen the nut and let your weight off the clutch.

Ok got the nut off and replaced the springs 3 small ones one the one large torque spring with yellow 1500 springs, all 4.  Now....... Having a big issue getting the belt back together after the mods. It seems like the area where the belt goes on the clutch is pressed tighter than before and I can't squeeze it like before to get the belt over the drive boss in front of the variation.... Do I now need a larger belt???  is this a common issue?

Had to lay the tools down and take a break. Up until now my scooter project was humming along. Please lay some insight to my issue now.....  thanks in advanced!!!

You dont need a longer belt ypu just need to squeeze the belt into the rear pulley to allow some slack on it to slip over the front crank. Either pull the pulley apart by hand and have someone pull the belt into the gap, or sit the rear pulley on the scoot with the belt wrapped round ot and pull the belt at the other end to pull it into the pulley. Its easy but you may need to practice a few times.

Whatever you do dont put a metal driver or anything into the rear pulley to pull apart the faces cos you will score the drive face ane thatwill damage your belts.
