Windshield options for the 500?

Just purchased a '09 500i w/ABS that the previous owner has installed a GIVI windshield.

The GIVI works really well for wind protection, but it's very tall. The original windshield looks nice, but lacks function.

Looking for something in between the stock and GIVI windshields, any ideas, will the windscreens from earlier Xcitings fit?

Thought about cutting down the Givi, but it will work well in cooler weather.

Yes mine looks like it could be about 3 inches shorter for me so I could look over it when it rains, but my wife sure likes it! I would go the cut off top route first do to cost, but there are other real neat shields out there, but you will have to probably order out of Europe to get one.

Here's my ERMax screen. I bought it from an online supplier in Italy who I will not recommend. It took almost 5 months to get it.

CS, how do those floorboard pieces attach to the rubber inserts?  Looks good.

Scoota, that screen is not for our X500's. It's for the up-dated Euro models. I don't think it will fit. Check it out, I may be wrong.

The ERMax screen measures 25.5" from center of bottom plastic retainer to top of screen.
Out of curiosity what is the stock measurement?

My stock windscreen measures about 19", and the GIVI is 33".

Maybe this stock screen from a previous year Xciting would be similar in height to your Ermax screen?

I have seen these on the net. Does someone make a kit to convert a stock scoot, or is this a new bike from a factory?

Here's my wife's Morphous. It will be getting some custom treatments soon. I have moved it into the house to disassemble it, and take the parts to a paint shop. Overall, It is much more smoother than the XC500. Each bike has its purpose. The Morphous was sold in the U.S. from 2006-2008. Yamaha still makes the bike in Japan under the name Maxam. If you Google Maxam, there is a ton of parts to mod this bike.
