that put a smile on her face knowing she rocks  ;D   yea i will take my time and make sure its all solid as a rock before going out on the maiden voyage. still got cvt tuning and the new clutch and bell to do aswell. luckily i still have 2 days off of work to get it done so we have no need ot rush it.

Nice. Ive been seriously thinking of getting a 72cc kit lately myself. Maybe be my winter project this year if i get time.

Didnt take too long to do, seems quite easy to pull the engine out, what is it a couple of bolts?

oook a little update on the build....when i fitted the new cylinder head there werent any bolts to fix the intake manifold to, so i had to get some bolts out of a hardware store and they fitted perfectly so i was able to fit the carb but then comes the next of a couple of snags...

first the polini filter was too big to fit under the seat so i had to cut a hole into the seat to make room for it...secondly my tweed weave exhaust wouldnt fit properly which i was extremely pissed off about so i had to fit the original again  >:(  :'(......once we finally got it all bk together again we were ready to fire her up for the first time (which i was sh*tting myself about) but....she fired up first time  ;D ;D
obviously there was the usual sounds of a extremely tight and new engine being run for the first time but i managed to take her on a 10 mile trip to the in-laws house....my god the sound  :D :D she burbles and sounds mean as hell but i cant take her over 30mph and i have to keep an eye on the revs aswell....

she cruises nicely at 30 at only 1/3 of the throttle  ;D ;D so only another 290 miles to go before i can open her up abit more and see what she can do. just got the clutch and new clutch bell to go on then once she has been run in i can start playing with roller weights and clutch springs.
so...so far so good, fingers crossed all goes well.

heres some pics of the airfilter and what i had to do to my seat to make it fit

sorry didnt really awnser your question....yea it is a couple of bolts..plus you need to undo the suspension and dissconnect all the lines and electrics but its fairly simple to do...plus you will need some axle stands to stop the bike falling over.

Props! The rings will let you know when to open it up. They will get quieter every mile...

yea there slowly getting quieter, shes done 20 odd miles so far without any problems. i guess the noise im hearing is the piston rings on the cylinder wall.. seems to be getting smoother aswell..are there any other noises i need to listen out for.

plus im running a 86 main jet...will i need a bigger jet? i have got my original exhaust but i have my polini filter on there..so im guessing i might need to put a bigger jet in.

You might not need to upjet with the OEM pipe. MIGHT not!!! Do a chop with what you have now...

Could you not just have angled the filter to come out the side? Thats how i fitted mine when i ran it.

Why wont the exhaust fit? Thought it was for our engine?

i did try and angle the filter off to the side but the choke was in the way and i couldnt go the other way because the throttle cable..so...i went straight up..

the tweed weave exhaust had a design flaw.. if you fitted the bolts on then it wouldnt fit at the manifold and if you fitted it at the manifold then you couldnt get the bolts in so i just had to put the old exhaust on....is a shame because it was tweed weave lol.

yep will do that then i can get an idea of how its doing.

Can you get a refund on the exhaust then? If not then maybe widen the holes a little or elongate them to get the bolts to fit?

I love my Leo Vince so you may want to think of one of them if you can get a refund? They have a lovely sound to them  ;D

My filter was touching the solid metal guide pipe for the throttle cable too but i just loosened the nut and twisted it down and round a little and the filter went right on.
