88 on mine with a stock exhaust at the time wouldnt even go past 20mph, waaaaay lean. 96 was almost there so reckon between 94-96 maybe about ok and a 50cc, at least around where i live.

Its meant to be dryer this weekend so im hoping to try mine out again and try a few more jets. Also got aome new brake pafs to throw in too. Think with the Leo Vince i may need 96-100 main in mine.

right i decided to see if my cam was still in time, so i took off the cam cover and the fan cover then proceeded to turn the crank untill it was TDC.... as it went into the compression stroke it became almost difficult to turn and you could hear the pressure in the cylinder.

heres a vid (dont know if it will work though)

what i didnt realise is that the vid didnt pick up the sound it was making. on the compression stroke it makes a ssssshhhhhhhHHHHHHH noise. i take it its becuz of the amount of compression i have in the cylinder?

Try filling the inverted head with Brake/Carb clean. If any gets thru the valves you have an issue. If not then what you hear is air getting past the rings. They are not effective when they are not running. So that is not a worry. Compression test baby!

yea i will be doing a compression test but i now have another problem...she tops out far too quickly  >:(  shes fine on acceleration but if the revs go too high she makes a noise that says "i cant do that" shes fine mid range but i cant put too many revs through..she dont like it. theres no white smoke or pools of oil under her so i know shes holding up...just a compression test to do (i think a standard Ag 50 has summit like 120 or over)  the noise i decribed was coming from inside the cylinder and not from the valves, so i guess its just air getting past the rings.  shall let you all know what happens.

It sounds like your rollers are too light. New rings also make a sound like a can full of bb's when they start to float in the grooves. You see rings will NOT prevent blow by if they are installed upside down, or just sitting. They work when there is pressure behind them pushing them out onto the Cyl. walls. The TOP side of the ring has a number laser etched or it is the surface that has the angle on it. The angle allows gasses to get behinh the ring, and push it out to the wall. Double check that, maybe 1gr heavier on your rollers, and stay away from WOT for at least 200 miles or until the rings quiet down.

thats been over 200 miles now im in the last 20 miles or so of run in the rings are alot quieter, there not making the metalic metal on metal sound..once i have done the last 20-30 miles everything will be checked and double checked re-torqued and re-adjusted. i know i need to change the rollers for some heavier ones..i have some rollers in my portable tool box (backpack) i also have the race crank that me and carole need to install aswell as the new clutch and bell (which is the same as yours and words)

You prob need heavier than stock rollers now with the bigger kit, or at least stock weight?

yea i have some (i think there 6.5) rollers. gonna buy an impact off of a mate so i can get it all sorted. take off is phenomonal but i think when it gets to 35-40 the belt cant go any higher and slips (may get a new belt too) this is theory on the belt side of things but i guess i will see whats what when i open her up.

Before you take it off use a marker to draw a line and check how far it is running up the variator face. You can just about slide a marker in without taking off the variator.

Also worth buying a cheap tach off ebay, i got one for about a tenner ages ago that just wraps round the plug wire and seems to gice acurate readings. Very usefull for getting it dialed in good.

It comes with a long wire attached that you route down to the sparkplug cable, wrap it around the sparkplug cable 2-3 times and thats it.

I just used strong double sided tape to mount the gauge to my dash. Took about 5mins to install.
