Glad to hear the trip is going well. How is the GoPro2 working out? Videos decent?
I will be purchasing a GoPro2 in the future to document scooter trips along with the third-party controller board below for doing extended time-lapse videos. I discovered this accessory while researching the Scooter Cannonball (trip across USA) as many of the riders use it. I have no affiliation with the makers of this board - have just been very impressed by the videos I've seen created with it.
The GoPro time-lapse feature keeps it powered on and takes a photo after the set amount of time so the battery only lasts about two hours. The Cam-Do board turns the power off between shots so you can take up to 2000 shots spread over weeks.

If you search YouTube for Scooter Cannonball 2012 you will find many more extended time-lapse scooter videos made with the Cam-Do board..
I am off work two weeks each month and can take up to six weeks straight, so if anybody has a scooter trip coming up and wants some company let me know.. My next trip will be taking the scooter on the Amtrak Auto Train up to Virginia/Washington DC and then taking the back roads down to Florida hitting the BlueRidge Parkway, Deals Gap, etc.
