It's Friggen HOT!
« on: July 01, 2012, 03:15:20 PM »
Here in central SC it's boiling hot outside.

It's 11:13 AM and Weather dot com says it's 97 but feels like 109.

And it's not even noon yet.

The worst of today has not even arrived yet.

Still today, I fixed my weedeater and cut the grass, washed the truck, moved my workbench from the front porch to the shed and went shopping at Lowes and Wally-world.

I just can't take any more of it.  :-)

I got my beers and I'm ready for the fourth.

I did it and I'm glad.

The humidity is what really gets you

Sounds like it's rough above and below the Mason Dixon line. I'm in S Jersey across the Delaware river from Philly and its 94 F today, and that's down from 98 on Friday and Saturday.

I hate the summer

When life gives you lemmons you make lemmonaide!

I'm in North Jersey where it's 95 on my ride into work today, so tomorrow I'll be heading to the shore, the boat gets dropped in the water around 2 PM and I plan on a nice day out in the ocean where the temps are a good 10 (F) cooler.

Ahhh, Lemmonaide!

But to confirm what the OP says, It is too freaking hot outside!

We had an expression in the Navy that you whiners "would have to wear rat guards on your ankles to keep the ants off yer candyass!" It has been over a hunnert for the past 5 days here in West TN. 95 would be a pleasure, I think.

When I was in the Navy, I was told that if the Navy wanted me to have a wife they would have issued me one.  In hind sight, they were more right than I thought :-)
I did it and I'm glad.

And we have GI's overseas wearing 70 lb packs and full body armor in a desert with unfriendlies shooting at them.

Did you say it was hot?

I can take desert heat -- it's the humidity I can't stand. I'd rather be in California, or even Oregon than on the East Coast with the humidity. Once did a 19 hour film shoot in the high desert of California. Didn't feel the effects until later in the day, but I won't even scrape the paint off the side of my garage on a day this hot.

It's been 95-104 for two weeks now in Denver. The fires are what worry us.
Take care

I went to Az, USA in Aug once, 115(f) dry heat! Dry heat my ass, it felt like I was in a pizza oven.

I know what you mean about it being humid but heat is heat after it gets to about 100.
